We noticed a trend lately.
More businesses are trying to display external inventory or booking tools on their websites using iframes. It is an easy, fast way to get a third-party tool onto a page.
But it comes at a steep price.
Iframes look and feel clunky on mobile devices. They trap content inside a fixed box. They inherit styling from the external server, meaning you lose control over your brand’s fonts, colors, and layouts.
Here is the better way: Native API integration.
Why Native API Integration Wins
With an API integration, your website does not just display a window into another platform. It actually talks to the server directly. You pull the raw data and build the layout yourself.
- Flawless Mobile Scaling: The data adapts to any screen size instantly. No pinching, no scrolling inside a tiny frame.
- Total Brand Consistency: Your custom fonts, brand colors, and interactive elements take center stage.
- Speed and Data Control: You only pull the data you actually need to display.
Two Approaches in Action
To show the difference, let’s look at two recent projects we built.
1. The Native API Standard: 7sproperties.us
For 7s Properties, the goal was to showcase real estate listings with zero friction.
We bypassed third-party widgets and built a direct API connection. The property data loads dynamically right into a custom-built, headless interface.
The Result: The site loads incredibly fast. The typography and color scheme remain perfectly consistent whether the user is on a desktop or a smartphone.
2. The Budget-Friendly Iframe: liveatcarrick.com
For Live at Carrick, the project required a different approach. The priority was getting a leasing portal up and running on a tighter budget without sacrificing core functionality.
We used a standard iframe implementation. It handles the data properly, but it carries the expected limitations. The content is locked inside a rigid frame, and the mobile experience depends entirely on the third-party platform’s stylesheet.
It works, but it lacks the visual polish of a truly seamless integration.
Stop settling for out-of-the-box widgets.
If your web application relies on rigid frames, you are leaving brand equity on the table. We specialize in weird, API-heavy, and deeply integrated projects that adapt to your business—not the other way around.
